The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, hosted a sadaka in memory of the departed at the Seyit Jemaleddin Mosque, located in the ancient land of Anau. This noble event served as yet another testament to our people’s commitment to centuries-old national and religious traditions. The sadaka, given with prayers for health, prosperity, and the continuity of achievements in the country’s life, brought the general public together. This was reported by the State News Agency “Turkmenistan today”.
Prior to the sadaka, Haji Arkadag noted that he performed a meritorious deed by participating in a cleanup subbotnik at the Gurban ogly Welmyrat cemetery in the Magtymguly village of the Ak Bugday etrap of the Ahal velayat. Addressing the gathering, the National Leader drew attention to the importance of Turkmen traditions and the reverence shown toward sacred places, praying for the souls of the deceased to rest in peace and for their final resting places to be blessed with light. The speech also recalled the significance of the historical values described in the Head of State’s book “Anau — Culture from the Depths of Millennia.”
Following the sadaka meal featuring traditional dishes, the Mufti of Turkmenistan recited verses from the Holy Quran and offered prayers. The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty wished for the offered sadaka and recited prayers to be accepted by the Almighty, expressing his best hopes and wishes for the peace of the country and the well-being of its people. Afterward, during the first days of the month of Ashyr, the National Leader welcomed the new crescent moon in the sky with gestures of blessing, making good wishes for the future of our Homeland.
At the conclusion of the event, the Hero-Arkadag performed the evening prayer along with the congregation inside the mosque. Following the recitation of the three rak’ahs of Fard and two rak’ahs of Sunnah, prayers were offered for the further prosperity of the country and the success of the major endeavors led by the state leadership. As a reminder, this beautiful mosque was opened in March 2024 with the participation of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and continues to hold a significant place in the spiritual and cultural life of our nation.
